This sculpture is a windswept design and is created out of approximately 1250 feet of alumiinum wire of various gauges. Each of the 370 strands are approximately 42 inches in length. Once all strands are cut to the desired length, they are gathered into a single bundle. The bundle of wire is then meticulously hand twisted to form the roots, trunk, branches and foliage. The foliage of the tree is formed by curling and then uncurling individual strands of wire using various sized rods. Once the tree/foliage and roots are formed the sculpture is then ready to mount on a pre-selected, treated piece of driftwood. The roots are securely fastened to the driftwood base. Addition, smaller pieces of driftwood are added to create a more interesting and realistic sculpture. The sculpture is approximately 26 inches wide, 11 inches deep, 13 inches tall and weighs approximately 9 pounds.
