This sculpture is made of approx. 1300 feet of aluminum wire of various guages (375 individual strands of wire, each strand at approx. 42 inches in length). Typically there is at least two gauges of wire used in each sculpture. The individual strands are gathered into a single core bundle of wire. This large bundle is hand twisted into the desired shape of the tree, leaving approximately 10-12 inches of the bundle for the roots. Once the tree sculpture is created with the desired branch structure, the foliage is formed by utilizing various sized rods. With the the tree/folage completed the roots are forms and the sculpture is secured to the chosen base utilizing a permanent glue. This particular sculpture is a large rock placed in a black pot surrounded by various colored smaller rocks. The sculpture is approx. 24 inches tall, 12 inches wide, 9 inches deep and weighs approx. 23 pounds.
