The wire sculpture is created from approximately 1400 feet of aluminum wire with various gauges. The 1400 feet of wire is comprised of approximately 400 individual stands, each strand being approximately 42 inces. These individual stands are combined into a single bundle which forms the bases for the tree/root sculpture. The tree/roots are formed by twisting the bundle of wire into the desired form. The folage is formed by the use of various sized rods. Approximately 10 to 12 inches of the bundle is reserved for forming the roots. Once the tree/roots were created the sculpture was mounted onto a rock and the rock was mounted on a piece of quartz. The tree and roots are securely glued to the rock and quartz with addtional smaller rocks to created a more realistic and interestin sculpture. This particular sculpture is 30 inches tall, 17 inches wide, 14 inches deep and weighs approximately 33 pounds.
